Process

The key to creating impactful content is through an effective and streamlined process which functions in parallel with the design, product and business processes.

1
Analyse

The first and foremost step towards creating effective content design is to deep dive into the problem statement. This involves understanding the user's needs and the business goals. So, it begins with competitor analysis and market research to understand the product fit. This step also involves understanding the product requirements and user behaviour across the funnel in case of existing product enhancements.

2
Empathise

Empathising with the user's needs and emotions is a crucial step towards creating designs which solves for the challenges of the user. We can empathise with the user's needs by conducting in-person interviews to understand the expectations of the user. The following step is to collaborate with designers and product managers to incorporate the user insights in the product, content and design strategy.

3
Strategise

This step also plays a major role in the creating of an effective and delightful content design which enables a smooth, friendly and engaging user experience. This involves understand what the user is doing, their thoughts during that given time, their feelings and the tone in which we are going to communicate with the users. This is also the stage when we define the personality of the product which is contextual to the user journey,

4
Write

This is the stage when writing the microcopy takes place. Writing microcopy is about crafting small, purposeful pieces of text that guide users through an interface and enhance their overall experience. This is turn will impact the activation, satisfaction and retention of the users. The tone of voice of the microcopy play a significant role the on usability, engagement, and the overall emotional outcome of the product.

5
Review

The review process happens at multiple levels. The first level of approval happens internally within the team. It is then followed by review by leadership, product and business teams. This feedback can be gathered and discussed through collaborative working sessions. At this stage, we need to connect the dots together and see if the user journey, information architecture and microcopy meet the larger planned objectives.

6
Test

UX Content can be tested through various methodologies such as A/B Testing, Content
Feedback Forms, Quizzes, Customer Satisfaction Forms and Usability Tests. The ideal approach towards getting measurable results is to follow more than one method to get a holistic understanding of how effective the content is. Leveraging insights through effective testing to improve the experience is what makes a user experience stand out.
