Breaking traditional boundaries to create new forms of composition and performance
The fusion of different forms of music creates a universal way of expressing through rhythms and notes. Also, with the emergence of new performative practices to suit the digital audience, there is now scope for taking a fresh approach towards composing and performing Indian Classical Raagas.
Raaga Bagheshwari evokes the Rasas (emotions) of Virah (Courage) and Karuna (Compassion). This is a night raaga which is usually played before midnight.
This raaga can be re-created to express the Shringara Rasa (Emotions of longing and love) through short and engaging compositions, which breaks away from the conventional form of playing the raaga.
Raaga Tilak Kamod is a playful and fun raaga (Hasya Rasa) and this composition blends Indian and Western notes in the rhythmic structure of 16 beat cycle (Teental)
